Set around a natural harbour wrapped by cliffs, Ilfracombe is a seaside resort town on the North Devon coast.

It’s home to several of the finest wedding venues in the South West (all of which we serve with our unrivalled bridal beauty, hair and wedding makeup packages).

Wedding venues in Ilfracombe

With its grand Victorian architecture against the exceptional scenery of the Bristol Channel, Ilfracombe’s rugged coastline provides incredible views around every corner. It all adds up to a setting that feels a million miles from the everyday – perfect for brides in search of a one-of-a-kind wedding destination.

Accessible from land only through a series of atmospheric tunnels cut by hand through the rock, The Tunnels Beaches include a series of sheltered coves and a tidal Victorian bathing pool. Weddings here are secluded and relaxed, while the rugged scenery and spectacular sunsets are hard to beat. With incredible bespoke accommodation also available at the venue, The Tunnels feel like a private paradise for you and your guests.

Nestled further along the coastline is the 27-acre Watermouth Cove, a wedding venue offering everything from a private bay with hidden caves at the water’s edge to a clifftop viewpoint with panoramic ocean views. Our favourite feature though has to be the Glam Room, a gorgeous hair and makeup studio space where our team get brides ready before the ceremony starts.

Listed in the Michelin Guide, the 4-star Sandy Cove Hotel holds a 3 Rosette AA Award for its incredible cuisine. Blink and you might think you’re on the Italian coast – the sea views are nothing short of spectacular. The clifftop hotel is situated on the edge of Exmoor National Park, surrounded by an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and only steps away from the secluded and enchanting Broadsands Beach.

No matter what Ilfracombe wedding venue you choose, there’s plenty for you and your guests to do and enjoy in the days before or after the ceremony.

Paddleboard to secluded corners, go dolphin watching or fishing by boat, or explore the bays by foot along the South West Coast Path. For sealing enduring memories with the special people in your life, there’s no question that Ilfracombe makes for a magical destination wedding.
